L'Oreal Color Preference in 7A Dark Ash Blonde Review

Hey! After I got a haircut, I colored my hair with L'Oreal Preference in 7A Dark Ash Blonde. I wanted a light brown look and I picked a cooler shade so the red and copper undertones won't show up. But under certain lightings my  hair does look like and auburn brown. It tends to get lighter after several washes also.

My hair is very thin and fragile, so does anyone have any suggestions to what products work best to maintain good healthy skin after all the coloring?

The color doesn't get lighter after each watch unless I blow dry my hair or apply heat. I am using a color therapy shampoo so that my color can stay longer and not fade.

hey Jen, do you know of any good hair masks out there that you can suggest? I've never used a hair mask before. Thanks

I would suggest a hair mask after a hair dye treatment, especially one with protein to heal some of the damage. The color looks great!

Hey!I have the same color but I used Framesi. It smells good. But your right though. Even if its ash blond , it seems to look auburn if applied in dark hair. I would like the ouput to look greyish brown like how an ash blonde/brown should look like. It should also resemble a chestnut color not reddish, yellowish, or copper.

U mentioned in the comments that it will lighten if u blow dry it (which I do all the time) so will my hair eventually go blonde from this colour and how long should I let the dye? And how long did u let the dye stay in ur hair? I don't want an intense colour so I was thinking 10-20mins but Im not sure
I'm asian as well btw

Hi Lily, your hair won't go blonde from this color. It will be auburn brown. When you "blow dry it" or add heat the color are enhanced, especially during the development process. The heat allows for your hair color dye to develop. I left the hair dye stay in for 30mins after I placed a shower cap and heated my hair with a dryer to lock the heat in there. Then I wrapped it with a towel so that it keeps the hair free from air. I hope this helps.

Yes. It will give a nice red-brown hint to your hair, but if you're virgin black, you may need to let it develop much longer. Also the second time you dye it, you may get the color you wanted. But if your hair is black, I'd suggest a much stronger product or pre-bleach your hair. You can get these supplies at the local beauty store. I hope this helps.
